About Center Mid Consulting
Hilary Rocks Ruhe has always been the connective tissue in a group: the one who sees how all the pieces connect and makes sure they move together. In soccer, that's the center midfield position: controlling the ball and commanding the field.* In her career, it's meant nearly 15 years of managing high-stakes client accounts at marketing and advertising agencies and publishing companies.
Through her work with clients like Meta, Ray Dalio, The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Micron, MECU, the United States Mint, Columbia University, Georgetown University, and the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream, Hilary developed an expertise in quarterbacking complex projects. This included coordinating large interdisciplinary teams, driving detail-oriented direct response and public affairs advertising and communications campaigns, managing complicated stakeholder relationships, and overseeing client budgets up to $40 million.
In 2025, she founded Center Mid Consulting to offer that expertise to organizations that need an extra set of expert, trusted hands. Hilary provides strategic consulting and hands-on help to solve challenges that require empathy, experience, and the ability to navigate internal bureaucracy and competing personalities to push projects across the finish line.
Hilary earned her BA from Vanderbilt University and her master’s degree from Georgetown University. She lives in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband, Jonathan, and rescue dogs Titus and Daisy (who often make appearances on her Zoom meetings).
*While Hilary's soccer career peaked in the seventh grade, she (clearly) still finds the analogy compelling.
